Additional destinations with Emirates

The airline will increase its offer in the coming months and add flights from Dubai to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing, Hong Kong and Brisbane to its route network. By March 2023, daily flight operations to Shanghai will be gradually expanded. In February 2023, the airline will increase the frequency between Dubai and Guangzhou and will then operate a daily non-stop flight. Flight operations to Beijing will start on March 15, 2023, with a daily non-stop flight. From 29 March 2023, Emirates will operate an additional daily non-stop flight from Dubai to Hong Kong, in addition to the existing flight via Bangkok, bringing the offering to 14 weekly flights. Emirates will operate a second daily flight to and from Brisbane from 1 June 2023.

Etihad Airways boosts frequency to Frankfurt

From 1 May, the airline will add an extra four services a week to its current daily frequency, bringing the total number of flights to Frankfurt up to 11 weekly. The increase in frequency also means greater connectivity to the growing network. Customers flying to or from Frankfurt with Etihad can use the airline’s Rail & Fly service to travel by train from any station on the Deutsche Bahn or SNCF network. Etihad’s also announced the start of flights to Düsseldorf from 1 October.

British Airways announces codeshare partnership with South African airline Airlink

British Airways has announced the codeshare partnership with Airlink, to improve connectivity between the UK, Europe, North America and more than 15 destinations in Southern Africa. With bases in Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban, Airlink is a premium regional airline with a wide-reaching network of cities in fourteen countries, including South Africa and Namibia. This agreement means British Airways customers travelling from or transiting through London will be able to connect to their final destination via Cape Town or Johannesburg on a single ticket. British Airways currently flies twice daily between London Heathrow and Johannesburg, twice daily between London Heathrow and Cape Town and three times per week between London Gatwick and Cape Town.

China Airlines increases frequency for Wien-Taipei

Taiwan´s national airline will increase the connection between Austria and the capital of the Republic of China from January 2023. Due to the high demand China Airlines will increase the number of flights from 3 to 4 weekly connections. The flights will operate on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

Resumed flights to Delhi

Air India is resuming the route between Delhi and Vienna, which was suspended due to the pandemic. The flights will be offered three times a week from February 18, 2023.

Resumed flights from Munich to Japan

All Nippon Airways is returning to Munich after a break due to the pandemic. With the summer flight schedule on March 26, ANA will resume the direct connection to Haneda airport. Initially the route will be served three times a week Monday, Friday and Saturday.

New destinations in the summer of 2023

Austrian Airlines has significantly expanded its program for the coming year and intends to offer around 120 destinations and 1,250 weekly frequencies from Vienna. Porto, Marseille, Billund and Tivat are to be added to the program with up to three weekly connections. So far only served seasonally, Palermo has also been included in the scheduled summer flight schedule. The connection to Vilnius, which was already part of the Austrian route network before the corona pandemic, is to be offered again with three weekly flights. Furthermore, Tromsø is served once a week in summer between June and August.

Qatar Airways is expanding its route network and increasing frequencies

Qatar Airways is increasing frequencies to numerous destinations from Doha's Hamad International Airport in the winter program. Frequencies to the following destinations will be significantly increased, Singapore, Bali, Abu Dhabi, Amsterdam, Almaty, Dublin, Cape Town, Hong Kong, Lusaka & Harare, Ho Chi Minh City, Adelaide and Auckland, Hanoi.

Eva Air connects Munich with Taiwan

Eva Air has been offering direct flights from Taipei to Munich since the beginning of November. The connection is flown four times a week. Passengers arrive in Taipei early in the morning and benefit from numerous connecting flights into Eva Air's route network.
